Best place we stayed during our whole India trip. Clean, top location, cheap, quiet and helpful staff. Would definately choose it again.

A very nice couple with a beautiful house, with great attention to detail, as well as the guest. Always attentive and courteous. The house is in a very beautiful and peaceful location, it has a 5-10 minute walk to the center. We really enjoyed our stay and could rest well. Thank you again!

This was my second time at EN - and was certainly as good if not better than my previous stay. The place has everything you could possibly want at a guest house - great location yet off the Main Street (quiet), comfortable rooms, great atmosphere, hot showers and excellent hospitality from Arvind and Vishay. If you are visiting Jaipur you need to stay here - you won't be disappointed!

Loved it here! Arvind and his staff were amazing, friendly, and extremely helpful. The guest house is beautiful and very homey and in a very central location, though it is located on a side street so nice and quiet in the evening. Excellent guest house experience.

Amazing stay in Jaipur. The explorers nest is an awesome little apartment homestay. The owner and his wife are insanely helpful and kind to all their travelers. Helped me book a day trip to Agra and my continuing on to a tiger reserve. Stop reading this and book the explorers nest.

We were very fortunate to stay at this pleasant home stay in Jaipur, although we weren't very lucky in our time in there as we both, me and my wife, got a really bad bug from eating in a nearby restaurant in our second day. Luckily enough we had Arvind to take care of us like a father, he was more worried about us than ourselves. He called the best doctor in town and we were looked after very well. We had to stay longer in Jaipur to recover, and I doubt it that would have any other place in India that we would be treated and cared like we were. We ended up spending good time and long conversations with Arvind and Shoma, and that made our trip to Jaipur worth it. Don't think twice! Good location, great service and the best home stay experience you will have in India.

This is Arvind and Shoma's home, and it feels like it! A beautiful quiet place, great location close to the pink city. Breakfast is at the family breakfast table, the rooms are lovely and Arvind and Shoma are very friendly and helpful. It is like living in a nice home, a very good atmosphere. Jaipur is pretty intense, this is a lovely quiet place to be close to the action, but also to get away from it! The rooftop room was a little small for me, but the other rooms are spacious, clean, lots of air and light and very pretty.

This place is a little piece of paradise hidden in the hustle and bustle of Jaipur. The rooms are spotless and beautifully decorated; there's a rooftop with a swing (also -- you can use a yoga mat and do yoga on the roof!) and a gorgeous living room full of antiques! Breakfast is provided, and it's nice to sit at a real dining room table and be able to talk to other guests. Arvind, the owner, is incredibly generous and helpful. The guesthouse, though a bit hard to find, is close enough to the old city to walk. I felt so at home here and SO relaxed, which is really hard to come by for a female solo traveler in India!

Lovely, small charming place that feels more like a home than a hostel. The veg dinner is brilliant and the ex-Lieutenant Colonel who runs it speaks excellent english and was about the most helpful man we met in India. Thoroughly recommend it.

We went two times to Jaipur and stayed both times in this small and nice hostel. We had such a good time here with the owner Arvind, his wife Shoma and the staff! The location is really good; just a bit outside of the hectic centre and at walking distance from the old pink city. The rooms are really clean and cozy and have everything you need. There's also a really nice rooftop with a nice view over the city. Breakfast is included. There's a good vibe in the hostel. We learned a lot from Arvind about the Indian culture, meditation and his funny experiences with running a hostel. He's a really nice man and has a great sense of humour. If you are looking for a hostel with a lot of character, this is the place to be!

We stayed at the Explorer's Nest from January 20th to January 25th 2011 to attend the Jaipur Literature Festival. Col Arvind Grover the owner, and his wife Mrs. Shoma Grover were very welcoming, and hospitable, and it was an immense pleasure to stay with them. The hostel is centrally located, and what worked to our advantage was that it was just 2kms (a ten minute auto rickshaw ride) away from the venue of the literature festival. Explorer's Nest is extremely clean, and has a very homely feel to it, complete with home cooked, delicious food, served hot and fresh. I would definitely love to go back to Jaipur and stay at the Explorer's Nest again, and also recommend it to anyone on budget travel to Jaipur.

My daughter and her friend needed somewhere to stay in Jaipur and I contacted the Explorers Nest based on excellent reviews from Hostelworld. I spoke to the owner, Arvind- who offered not only a room but also to send someone to meet them when they arrived at the bus station. All the more remarkable since the bus arrived at 2 a.m. The girls were treated like his daughters and he guided them on places to visit and also offered to take them to the train station. When there was a sense that the other train passengers were not comfortable with the two girls accompanying them, they were driven instead to their destination. Arvind is awesome - not only an excellent host but a generous and caring individual. The accommodations were additionally excellent and the breakfast delicious. Highly recommend. .

The explorers nest is a wonderful place to stay, a real home away from home! The owner and his wife as well as the staff are super friendly, caring and try to help whenever possible. Our room was lovely decorated and had attached bathroom with 24h hot water. The breakfast was definitely the best we had in India (plenty fried eggs, toasts, jam, tea, etc. ...). The vegetarian dinner offered by the hotel is also highly recommendable (real value for money). Overall it is fair to say this was our best stay in India.

This was one of the best hostels we have ever stayed at. Our bedroom was lovely with hot water and very clean. The manager is extremely pleasant. Help with everything you need and speaks extremely good english, it was nice chatting to him in the evenings. The hostel has a family feel to it and allows travellers to mix with each other very well. Good breakfast in the mornings and tea is very cheap to drink throughout the day!!! Top hostel!!

Beautiful guest house not only with clean and spacious rooms but also with fabulous antique decor. Little tricky to find just outside the walls of the Pink City but worth it! Evening meals at $R100 are a great deal and delicious!

Buckenm ,Canada | Couple 25-30 | 25 Oct 2010

loved this hostel...excellend standards for india hostels, staff were really nice and you can just chill out and relax here for a few days pretty central location but hostel is on an off road which can make it a little difficult to find initially and most auto-rickshaw an taxi drivers havent heard of it s its quite small but once you find it your sorted...cheese sandwiches are the bees knees and the guy tht does breakfast is so happy and you can get a family cooked meal for 100 rupees :)

This is an amazing hostel! MR Arving is a very nice and warm-hearted people, he gave me lots of useful and interesting information about Jaipur, he cooked the India food for us. I stayed here 6 days and talked a lot, this place is just like my home. I think I will be back again.

Great Hostel, location brilliant, and the hosts were lovely and really helpful! Highly recommended :)

Katherine, UK | Couple 25-30 | 12 Sept 2010

There is absolutely nothing I would not recommend about staying here. Ahrvind is the definition of a perfect host, available to answer any query and provide a wealth of information about Jaipur. It is well worth booking the delux room if it is available, it is a beautiful suite with antique furniture and 4-poster-bed.

Tim Collings, UK | Couple 30-35 | 21st August 2010

This place was amazing, we were made to feel at home from the moment we arrived and the owner must be the most genuine and honest man in India. A lovely terrace to sit and chat about Jaipur and the events of the moment with the family or other travellers. I couldn't recommend this place highly enough.

Nicholas Evans, UK | Couple 30-35 | 11th August 2010

What an oasis! Meeting Arvind and Shoma was an essential part of our India experience. The room was lovely and we even watched a Bollywood movie on the big screen in the lounge. If you are coming to Jaipur, stay here!

JuandPaul, England | Couple 31-40 | 08th April 2009

Best place we stayed in India by far. Rooms are nicely decorated, clean, & comfortable. Location is great and the owner, Arvind is the man. He was so helpful and really looked after us during our stay in Jaipur. A++++

This place is tonic for the soul, it's like a peaceful oasis within the city! For hosts Arvind and Shoma nothing is too much trouble they are kind, accommodating and incredibly helpful. The rooms are lovely and the breakfast tasty. The location is great, just a short hop from the main part of town and attractions such as the Pink City, yet its quiet corner location allows it to keep its charm.

lrb536847, England | | 30th March 2009

Call for pick-up from the hostel that is better. The location is behind the main street . The richshaw driver may not find it out. The guest house is good so I recommend to other travellers. Don't forget to buy some cookies from the Venus Bakery that is very yummy.

Mei Ying, Canada | Female 41+ | 10th April 2009

The proprietors Arvind and Shoma are amazing hosts! They will fill you in on anything from where to eat in Jaipur to Indian customs, culture and history. This guest house is situated in a quiet neighborhood and one would never suspect that the hustle and bustle of Jaipur's MI road lies just a minute's walk from this charming property. Food & entertainment are great as well.

I've never given any hostel 100% before, but the Explorer's Nest deserves it. Just a small guest house with five rooms, but it's decorated with amazing artifacts, and the rooms are comfortable and clean (well they were before i dyed it pink from Holi - sorry Arvind). Showers are hot which and of good pressure. The included breakfast is just one of the fantastic touches that your host's Arvid and Shoma provide. Thank you both for a fantastic stay.

RustedWire, Australia | Male 18-24 | 09th March 2009

Explorer's nest is a cozy family run place that will make you feel at home. Arvind and Shoma are so friendly and great sources of information. Good rooftop and porch to relax, and Arvind is happy to watch a movie with you as well. I came for 2 days and stayed a week. Highly recommended. FYI - The place only has a few rooms so if you need to cancel your reservation alert Arvind so he doesn't have to turn people away.

Genuinely the nicest guesthouse I've ever stayed in. Arvind, the owner, was a fantastic host and our room was clean, well equipped and very well decorated. If returning to Jaipur, I wouldn't think of staying anywhere else.

A very quiet place in a busy city ; rooms and breakfast really helps to feel comfortable. The owners are really nice, they can give good advices if you need. A peaceful place !!!

Julie, France | Group 25-30 | 25th February 2009

The explorer's nest is really ideally located; within walking distance from the pink city, the great cinema, the public gardens, and a big choice of eateries! The couple who runs this hostel is charming and very helpful.

jacey11168139, USA | Female 18-24 | 25th February 2009

Run by a lovely couple, we arrived very early in the morning and Arvind was there to greet us. Location is very good, not inside the old city but within easy walking distance and near ATM's and bakerys etc. Room was nice and the general balcony was nice and relaxing. I highly recommend this place if you are wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of the old city without being out of touch!
